          Domperidone

Indications:

          Dyspeptic symptom complex associated w/ delayed gastric emptying, GERD & oesophagitis. Nausea & vomiting of functional, organic, infectious or dietetic origin or induced by radiotherapy or drug therapy (eg dopamine agonists).

Contraindications:

          GI haemorrhage, mechanical obstruction or perforation. Prolactin-releasing pituitary tumour. Moderate or severe hepatic impairment. Co-administration w/ CYP3A4 inhibitors.

Special Precautions:

          Antacids or antisecretory agents should be taken after meals when used concomitantly w/ oral domperidone. Renal impairment. Lactose intolerance, galactosemia, glucose/galactose malabsorption; sorbitol intolerance. Tab are unsuitable for use in childn <35 kg. Pregnancy & lactation.

Dosage:

         Tab Adult & adolescent >12 yr & ≥35 kg 1-2 tab tds-qds. Max dose: 80 mg/day. Susp 10-20 mL tds-qds. Max dose: 80 mg/day. Childn & infant 0.25-0.5 mg/kg tds-qds. Max dose: 2.4 mg/kg but not >80 mg/day.
