Contents:

          Amoxicillin 875 mg, clavulanic acid 125 mg

Indications:

          Short-term treatment of infections eg upper & lower resp tract, GUT, skin & soft tissue, bone & joint infections, UTI, septic abortion, puerperal sepsis, intra-abdominal sepsis. Inj: In addition to the above, also indicated for prophylaxis against infection which may be associated w/ major surgical procedures eg GI, pelvic, head & neck, cardiac, renal, joint replacement & biliary tract.

Contraindications:

          Hypersensitivity to penicillins & cephalosporins, possible cross-sensitivity w/ other β-lactams. History of penicillin-associated jaundice/hepatic dysfunction.

Special Precautions:

          Suspected infectious mononucleosis. Prolonged use. Concomitant use of anticoagulants. Renal or hepatic impairment. Ensure adequate hydration & urinary output esp w/ parenteral therapy or high doses. Monitor prothrombin time or INR in patients maintained on acenocoumarol or warfarin.

          Tab Adult & childn >12 yr Mild to moderate infections 625 mg bd. Severe infections 1 g bd
