Contents:

          Isosorbide-5-mononitrate

Indications:

          Prophylactic treatment of angina pectoris.

Contraindications:

          Hypersensitivity to nitrates. Shock (including cardiogenic shock), hypotension, obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, pericarditis. Concomitant use w/ phosphodiesterase type-5 inhibitors eg sildenafil, tadalafil or vardenafil.

Special Precautions:

          Severe renal impairment, cirrhosis, portal HTN; severe cerebral arteriosclerosis, pronounced mitral stenosis, hypotension. Not for the management/relief of acute attacks of angina. Avoid abrupt w/drawal of therapy. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn.

Dosage:

          60 mg once daily, may be increased to 120 mg once daily. Dose may be reduced to ½ a 60-mg tab daily if headache occurs.
