Contents:

          Per mL Fenoterol HBr 500 mcg, ipratropium Br 250 mcg

Indications:

          Bronchodilator for the prevention & treatment of symptoms in chronic obstructive airway disorders w/ reversible airflow limitation eg bronchial asthma & especially chronic bronchitis w/ or w/o emphysema. Concomitant anti-inflammatory therapy should be considered for patients w/ bronchial asthma & steroid responsive COPD.

Contraindications:

          Hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy, tachyarrhythmias. Hypersensitivity to atropine-like substances & sympathomimetic amines.

Special Precautions:

          Diabetic patients w/ unstable metabolism; recent MI, severe organic heart or vascular disorders; patients w/ underlying severe heart disease, narrow-angle glaucoma, hyperthyroidism, prostatic hyperplasia/bladder neck obstruction.

Dosage:

          Adult & childn >12 yr 1 mL for immediate symptomatic relief. Severe cases: 2.5 mL, up to max 4 mL (80 drops). Intermittent & long-term treatment: Repeated dosing: 1-2 mL up to qds. Childn 6-12 yr 0.5-1 mL (10-20 drops) for immediate symptomatic relief. Severe cases: 2 mL (40 drops), up to max 3 mL (60 drops). Repeated dosing: 0.5-1 mL up to qds. Moderate bronchospasm or w/ assisted ventilation A dose in the lower range of 0.5 mL. Childn <6 yr 25 mcg ipratropium Br & 50 mcg fenoterol HBr/kg/dose. Up to 0.5 mL (10 drops).
