Indications:

          Treatment of patients ≥16 yr w/ chronic hepatitis B & evidence of HBV replication w/ ≥1 of the following conditions: Elevated serum ALT ≥2x normal, liver cirrhosis, decompensated liver disease, biopsy-proven necro-inflammatory liver disease, immunocompromised state, liver transplant.

Contraindications:

          Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients

Special Precautions:

          Renal impairment. Patients co-infected w/ HIV & are currently receiving or plan to receive treatment w/ antiretroviral regimen including lamivudine. Pregnancy & lactation.

Dosage:

          100 mg once daily.
