Contents:

          Atracurium besylate

Indications:

          Adjunct to general anaesth to enable tracheal intubation to be performed & to relax skeletal muscles during surgery or controlled ventilation.

Contraindications:

          Hypersensitivity to cisatracurium, atracurium, benzenesulfonic acid or benzyl alcohol.

Special Precautions:

          History of increased sensitivity to the effects of histamine, other neuromuscular blocking agents; myasthenia gravis, severe electrolyte imbalance. Hypovolaemic. Must not be administered into the infusion line of a blood transfusion. Pregnancy & lactation. Neonates.

Dosage:

          Tracheal intubation Adult & childn >1 mth 0.3-0.6 mg/kg by IV inj. Supplementary dose 0.1-0.2 mg/kg as required. Continuous infusion rates of 0.3-0.6 mg/kg/hr to maintain neuromuscular block during long surgical procedures.
