Contents:
Per Polaramine repetab Dexchlorpheniramine maleate. Per 5 mL Polaramine Expectorant Dexchlorpheniramine maleate 2 mg, guaifenesin 100 mg, pseudoephedrine sulfate 20 mg
Indications:
Polaramine
repetab Symptomatic treatment of perennial & seasonal allergic rhinitis,
vasomotor rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, mild, uncomplicated allergic skin
manifestations of urticaria & angioedema, amelioration of allergic
reactions to blood or plasma; anaphylactic reactions, as adjunctive therapy to
epinephrine & other standard measures; skin conditions eg allergic eczema,
atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, insect bites, dermographism & drug
reactions. Polaramine Expectorant Relief of cough & complications associated
w/ allergic disorders & manifestations of resp illness eg seasonal &
vasomotor rhinitis.
Contraindications:
Concomitant therapy w/ MAOIs or w/in 2 wk of
discontinuing such therapy. 3rd trimester of pregnancy. Premature
infants & newborn. Polaramine Expectorant Hypersensitivity to adrenergic agents. Severe HTN, CAD; hyperthyroidism.
Special Precautions:
Narrow-angle glaucoma, stenosing peptic ulcer,
pyloroduodenal obstruction, prostatic hypertrophy or bladder neck
obstruction, CV disease including HTN, increased IOP or hyperthyroidism.
May cause excitability esp in childn. May impair ability to drive or
operate machinery. Pregnancy & lactation. Elderly >60 yr. Polaramine repetab Childn <12 yr. Polaramine expectorant DM, angina. Childn <2 yr.
Dosage:
Polaramine Repetab Adult & childn ≥12 yr 1 repetab bd, in the morning & at night; resistant cases: May be increased to 1 repetab 8 hrly. Polaramine Expectorant Adult & childn ≥12 yr 1-2 tsp. Childn 6-12 yr ½-1 tsp, 2-6 yr ¼-½ tsp. All doses to be taken tds-qds.
