          Meloxicam.

Indications:

          Symptomatic treatment of RA & acute exacerbations of OA.

Contraindications:

          Hypersensitivity to NSAIDs or aspirin. Severe hepatic or renal failure, asthma, active peptic ulcer or history of recurrent peptic ulcer disease, GI or cerebrovascular bleeding & other bleeding disorders. Childn <15 yr.

Special Precautions:

          Prolonged administration. History of GI disease, coagulopathy. HTN or cardiac conditions aggravated by fluid retention & oedema. History of renal &/or hepatic dysfunction. Pregnancy.

Dosage:

          RA 15 mg daily. Acute exacerbations of OA 7.5 mg daily. May be increased to 15 mg daily in severe cases.
