Contents:

          Purified H. influenzae type b polysaccharide 10 mcg (conjugated to approx 30 mcg tetanus toxoid)

Indications:

          Active immunisation of all infants >6 wk against disease caused by H. influenzae type b.

Contraindications:

          Acute severe febrile illness.

Special Precautions:

          Administer SC to subjects w/ thrombocytopenia or a bleeding disorder. Not to be administered IV. In persons who have received human γ-globulins or a blood transfusion. Pregnancy & lactation.

Dosage:

          Primary vaccination 3 doses by IM in the 1st 6 mth of life. May be started from the age of 6 wk. Booster dose: Recommended in the 2nd yr of life. Previously unvaccinated childn 1-5 yr 1 dose. Previously unvaccinated infants between 6-12 mth 2 doses 1 mth apart, followed by 1 booster dose in 2nd yr of life.
