Travoprost 40 mcg, timolol maleate 5 mg
Indications:
Reduction of intraocular pressure in patients w/ open-angle glaucoma or ocular HTN who are insufficiently responsive to topical β-blocker or prostaglandin analogues.
Contraindications:
Bronchial asthma; history of bronchial asthma
or severe COPD. Sinus bradycardia, 2nd or 3rd degree AV block, overt
cardiac failure or cardiogenic shock. Severe allergic rhinitis &
bronchial hyperreactivity; corneal dystrophies.
Special Precautions:
History of severe cardiac disease, atopy or
severe anaphylactic reaction. Patients subject to spontaneous
hypoglycaemia; diabetics. May mask signs & symptoms of acute
hypoglycaemia & hyperthyroidism; worsens Prinzmetal angina, severe
peripheral & central circulatory disorders & hypotension.
Possibility of permanent change in eye color. Aphakic or pseudoaphakic
patients w/ torn posterior lens capsule or anterior chamber lenses;
patients w/ known risk factors for cystoid macular oedema or
iritis/uveitis. Avoid use w/ soft contact lenses. May impair ability to
drive or operate machinery. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn <18 yr.
Dosage:
Instil 1 drop in the conjunctival sac of the affected eye(s) once daily.
