Contents:

          Cyproterone acetate 2 mg, ethinylestradiol 35 mcg

Indications:

          Androgen-dependent diseases in women.

Contraindications:

          Severe disturbances of liver function; history of idiopathic jaundice or severe pruritus during pregnancy; Dubin-Johnson syndrome, Rotor syndrome; previous or existing liver tumors; existing or previous thromboembolic processes in arteries or veins & states which predispose to such diseases; sickle-cell anaemia; existing or treated cancer of the breast or endometrium; severe diabetes w/ vascular changes; disturbances of lipometabolism; history of herpes of pregnancy, otosclerosis w/ deterioration during pregnancy. History of migraine w/ focal neurological symptoms; undiagnosed vag bleeding. Pregnancy & lactation.

Special Precautions:

          Diabetes, HTN, varicose veins; otosclerosis; multiple sclerosis; epilepsy; porphyria; tetany; chorea minor; history of phlebitis; cigarette smoking, advancing age. Benign & rarely, malignant liver tumours which may lead to life-threatening intra-abdominal haemorrhage have been observed. If severe upper abdominal complaints, liver enlargement or signs of intra-abdominal haemorrhage occur, a liver tumour should be taken into consideration. Risk of arterial & venous thrombotic & thromboembolic diseases eg MI, DVT, pulmonary embolism & of CVA; increased risk of pancreatitis in women w/ history of hypertriglyceridemia.

Dosage:

          1 tab daily from the 1st day of menstrual cycle, for 21 days followed by 7 tab-free days.
