Contents:
Levofloxacin.
Indications:
Acute maxillary sinusitis, acute bacterial exacerbation of
chronic bronchitis, community-acquired pneumonia, skin & skin structure
infections, UTI & acute pyelonephritis.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to quinolones, childn <18 yr, pregnancy, lactation.
Special Precautions:
Patients w/ known or suspected CNS disorders,
reduced renal function, diabetes. Concurrent use w/ drugs that prolong
QT interval. Patient w/ hypokalemia, significant bradycardia or
cardiomyopathy. Rapid or bolus IV inj may cause hypotension.
Dosage:
Tab 250-750 mg daily. IV soln 250-750 mg by slow infusion over 60-90 min every 24 hr.
