Indications:
Contraception.
Contraindications:
History of or current deep vein
thrombophlebitis or thromboembolic disorders. Known thrombophilic
conditions. Cerebrovascular disease or CAD; migraine w/ focal aura;
breast or endometrial carcinoma & other estrogen-dependent
neoplasias; valvular heart disease w/ complications; HTN; diabetes w/
vascular involvement; undiagnosed abnormal genital bleeding; cholestatic
jaundice of pregnancy or jaundice w/ prior pill use; acute or chronic
hepatocellular disease w/ abnormal liver function; hepatic adenomas or
carcinomas; pregnancy.
Special Precautions:
Cilest does not protect against HIV (AIDS) or
any other STD. Increased risk of developing venous thromboembolic
complications. Arterial disease, DM, history or current severe
depression, smoking. Hepatic disease. Discontinue if unexplained partial
or complete loss of vision; onset of blurred vision or diplopia;
papilledema or retinal vascular lesions; exacerbation of migraine or
development of headache w/ recurrent, persistent or severe pattern
occur. Prediabetic & diabetic women. Rule out malignancy in case of
undiagnosed, persistent or recurrent abnormal vag bleeding. Preexisting
amenorrhea or oligomenorrhea. History of chloasma. Lactation.
Dosage:
1 tab daily for 21 days starting on the 1st day of menstrual bleeding, followed by 7 tab-free days.
