Indications:

          Chronic stable angina pectoris, HTN.

Contraindications:

          CV shock; combination w/ rifampicin. Pregnancy & lactation. Kock pouch (ileostomy after proctocolectomy).

Special Precautions:

          Severe hypotension; heart failure, severe aortic stenosis; preexisting severe GI narrowing; impaired liver function. Dose titration to max daily dose of 120 mg may result in maximal uptake of Na 2 mmol/day (for patients on controlled Na diet). May cause false +ve effects when doing barium contrast x-ray. May impair ability to drive & operate machinery.

Dosage:

          Initially, 30 mg once daily, may be increased in stages up to 120 mg once daily.
